It takes about six months to determine if you’ll have any dating success. I know there are books that promise meeting women in 30 days, but that’s only a part of the formula. To achieve any real success with dating, it requires hard work, making many mistakes, and figuring out what works best for you. It took me about four and a half months to meet my current girlfriend. Readers of the blog know the process wasn’t easy at all.

So what should your six month timeline include? It should begin with you, and what you’re seeking. It should also include things like adjusting your look, figuring which dating website works best for you, and finding out which locations and events you feel the most comfortable socializing. A six month timeline provides enough time to try out new clothing, new looks, experiment with ways to approach women in public and tweak your website.

I don’t believe you should do it alone. As we’ve seen I’ve used the services of eFlirtExpert Laurie Davis and The Professional Wingman Thomas Edwards. I started with OkCupid as my dating website of choice, and began experimenting from that point onward. I tried attending singles events, even went on a few speed dating trips. While the successes I had were building blogs to further developments, they were all necessary.

Dating isn’t a fast track process, you’re not going to meet a million women tomorrow after creating a dating profile (unless you’re famous.) Take your time, learn from your mistakes, and ask for some professional help!

Like fashion, dating trends tend to emerge over time such as interracial dating, cougars, and dating effeminate men. Many websites offer tips and tricks to these trends, but rarely do we get to hear a guy and girls side to the same topic. Enter LoveNation, a weekly web show hosted by my two friends Laurie Davis and Thomas Edwards. Both are dating coaches (eFlirtExpert and The Professional Wingman) and have teamed up for this interesting and unique show about dating.

What makes this show unique is, it’s geared to both men and women on today’s popular dating topics. Along with discussing trends, they answer e-mails from their viewers. There’s also a section titled “He Said / She Said” which features timely advice (such as the Midnight Kiss on New Year’s, or Inexpensive Date Ideas) from each host.

The new show has plenty of potential. While it may seem like just another dating advice show in a sea of dating websites, podcasts and blogs, LoveNation has a certain chemistry not seen elsewhere. While the hosts are dating coaches, they also provide real advice for real people. It’s one of the reasons why I often recommend the two coaches. Their personality, individuality and personal stories shine thru making the show an interesting and unique take about the upcoming and common trends that occur within dating.

Additionally, the advice is very on point (such as accessorizing with socks!)

Full disclaimer: I’m currently a client of Laurie’s (and highly recommend her!)

We’ve all heard the adage “nice guys finish last”. Unfortunately, sometimes it is true. What can be done to protect yourself against Too Nice Syndrome? How can you be nice and finish first? The eFlirt expert is here to help.

Women want a nice guy with an edge, not a nice guy who is a push over. It’s a fine line but if you can achieve the perfect balance, you will be completely irresistible to the female gender. One tip? Women want to feel cute and sexy. Guys often get so caught up impressing their date with sweet gestures that they don’t make her feel like a sexy mama, too! Needless to say …

A Little Sexual Tension Goes a Long Way. Don’t scale back the sweet stuff, just add more tension. Flirt. Use great body language. Try touching her knee once or twice if it feels comfortable. Once you’ve been on a couple dates, send a suggestive text or two. The more tension you can build, the more likely she is to come back for more.

If you’re afraid your date will think less of your gentlemanly ways due to sexual tension, think again. As long as you’re not too aggressive with making actual moves, she’ll find it intriguing, not offensive. Speaking of moves …

Kiss Her Already! If you don’t kiss her by the second date, you are in friend-zone danger. Make sure that she knows that you are into her on more than just plutonic terms. Lack of confidence is the biggest Too Nice indicator. Being a nice guy, doesn’t mean being a shy guy! Where you take her on dates can be telling, also. Chose intimate settings with low lighting and flex your chivalrous muscles by paying the bill.

You Can Be Too Nice Online, Too. We all know that SingleCityGuy is dating online. When you log on to the dating site of your choice, be wary of giving Too Nice virtual vibes. Yes, it’s possible. In your profile, symptoms include not being specific about yourself, using clichés and avoiding the ‘what are you looking for’ question. If you come off too nice, you’ll lose out because she either won’t be inspired to email you … or you won’t hear from your ideal matches.

Never underestimate the power of email, either. Show interest and excitement, but don’t email forever. Incessantly emailing is a major symptom of Too Nice Syndrome. After 2 or 3 email exchanges, ask for her phone number or to meet up. You’re the guy; you should be asking. If you don’t make a move, you risk coming off indifferent and losing her interest altogether. Above all …

Don’t Compromise Your Chivalry. Let’s face it, being a nice guy is part of your charm. You want someone who will appreciate your genuineness. Keep her guessing with your small gestures of appreciation, and show her that she is irresistible to you. Consider your intuitive thoughtfulness your secret weapon!

It’s become painfully obvious that I need help attracting a date. We men only have a handful of resources available to us and a majority of are very heavy handed. It speaks from the position of a Pick-Up Artist (PUA) whose sole intention is to find a “right now” woman. While these methods work, they aren’t my style, I really don’t feel like objectifying women as notches on my bedpost. PUA techniques do help raise confidence and gives us a chance at meeting women but really doesn’t help us meet quality women. Now it was time to try something a bit more serious and a lot more comfortable. It was time to try eat my pride and solicit the help of a Dating Coach.

Enter Laurie Davis (eFlirt Expert), a Dating Coach based out of NYC who specializes in online dating. She uses her background in PR marketing to tailor a person’s profile and online appearance to best attract the quality woman they are seeking. Her experience doesn’t just exist in the online realm, but reaches into the offline world. While the idea of seeing a dating coach seems a bit humiliating, I’m not beyond asking for help. To see how legitimate she was, last Wednesday I arrived at her weekly free advice seminar at Aroma on the Upper West Side.

There were some expectations I had of the eFlirt Expert. The first was that she would be attractive. Yes, I was expecting my dating coach to be cute. The logic here is easy, would you seriously take advice from someone who wasn’t attractive? That’s like getting financial advice from a plumber! My second expectation was that she was not single, this may be a bit confusing to understand. I believe a dating coach should know what it means to be single and use their own techniques to find a date for themselves. If they can find a date using their own techniques, then I should be able to find one as well! Third, she had to be comfortable, take a joke, and deal with my personality. I want to get along with my dating coach! Not only did Laurie meet these expectations, she was able to handle my questions and dole out great advice easily.

Laurie’s advice is sound and beyond traditional common sense. I had several cookie cutter questions lined up and I wanted if she’ll answer using some basic theoretical advice or substantial advice I could use immediately. Lucky she’s a legitimate dating coach and was able to answer my questions with helpful, ready to use advice that fit my personality. Along with helpful advice, she had a bevy of great ideas and additional things to try along with some great resources. It was enough for me to sign up for the “New Yorker” a $250 value and her most expensive package.

While I won’t give away Laurie’s secrets (and she won’t give away mine), I will keep you updated on my experience with the eFlirt Expert. She’s coming this week to go through my wardrobe. This is going to be interesting.
