YourTango “Break Up With Your Ex” Day

In an effort to relieve the stress of thinking or revising memories of your ex, YourTango has dubbed February 13th as “Break Up With Your Ex” Day. When I first heard of the campaign, I was intrigued. However, we all interact with our ex’s differently. I’m the type of person that likes to maintain some sort of friendship with my ex’s; usually, a lot of great memories has been shared, and I don’t care to toss them away entirely. I feel if you’ve parted on good terms, a friendship is possible. However, it seems, for my ex, “Break Up With Your Ex” Day had come early for me. [Read The Rest Of This Entry]

Responsibilities Still Exist After A Breakup

Depressed man sitting by the window, while the world passes by

Breaking up with someone you’re dating is a hard, and very difficult to handle. As I’ve recently discussed, there’s never a good time for a breakup, and it’s not something you can typically plan. The end of a relationship always requires some emotional mending and recuperation time, however the rest of the world continues to go about their daily lives. Breaking up with someone sucks, regardless of the couples situation or position. There never is a “good” time to break up, however, there are moments where breakups should happen to cause less damage.

Lessons Learned From Breaking Up

Math lessons on a chalkboard

I don’t want to dwell on my breakup with Rule Breaker for many reasons, including that I don’t want to be “that guy.” The person who cries and moans about their previous relationships until everyone is sick of hearing about it. Life doesn’t revolve around how a relationship succeeds or fails. That’s not to say some relationships aren’t defining moments in one’s life. My relationship with Rule Breaker was just that, a defining and important relationship in my life. Now that the book has ended, there are some lessons I’ve learned about myself, relationships, and what to do next time. [Read The Rest Of This Entry]

Breaking Up Sucks

A couple separated

After 8 months, Rule Breaker and I are no longer together. Had this been the case of a bad relationship, I would be quite overjoyed and thrilled. However what problems caused the end of our relationship doesn’t overlook the fact that this was a food relationship with a great and wonderful woman. I can’t help but to be a bit sad.
