Women Seem To Read Messages On Online Dating Websites First

Last week I asked women, if they read messages sent to them thru dating websites first, or if they take a look at the profile first. Last weeks poll results, comments and messages indicate, most women read the messages the receive first (49% of those polled). Second, I’m assuming, is taking a look at the profile (40%), and third tends to be the profile photo (under 11%). This means what you write to women matter the most! There are some additional items to keep in mind while dating online.

Grammar – Women pay attention to the grammar in your profiles. They want to know that you can speak, and write well. Bad grammar is a complete turn off.

Be Creative With Your Messages – Look at her profile and pull in some details. Even if she doesn’t say much, ask her to elaborate on the little details she has.

Keep On Trucking – I’ve mentioned this in the past, and reminded consistently by my dating coach, Laurie Davis. Don’t slack or slow down your effort while your seeking. Send as many messages as you can, to the women you like. Someone is bound to respond.

Online dating requires plenty of effort. The woman you may like, may not feel the same. Don’t be discouraged, there’s plenty of resources and services that can help you write messages the women would love.

  1. It’s all lies. I totally check the photos first.

  2. I’m inclined to agree with Miss Alpha in that I usually check the pictures first. The pictures are the deal breaker with me when determining whether or not to respond.

But I will also agree with you in that grammar and creativity are important. Text speak in an email or boring generic messages have sometimes been the deciding factor if I was on the fence about responding to a gentleman.

Bottom line, as in meeting in real life, you only get one chance to make a first impression so make it count. Don’t get sloppy or lazy just because it is online dating.
