It’s hard to find single events in any city. When I started this blog, I wanted to find and promote single events for people to attend. I honestly haven’t done that much of a great job. While I’ve promoted some events in the past, I want to return to providing a list of weekly single events for people to attend. Starting next week, I would like to provide a list of public singles events. These can be speed dates, single gatherings, dating website events, etc. To be included in the upcoming weeks list, each event must be submitted by Saturday, 3pm Eastern. To submit an event, use the contact page, select “Singles Event Information” and provide as much details about the event as possible.
Note: This form will be changing in the near future, and upon that change, directions will be provided.

It’s been roughly six months since I’ve begun blogging as Single City Guy. I began this project without knowing what would happen, if I it would become a successful blog or if it would get laughed off the face of the Internet. The latter hasn’t happened yet.
Some of you may have noticed that over the last few weeks my posting has become sporadic. I wish I could blame the girlfriend, travel schedules and work, but the reason has more to do with the blog itself. I made myself a promise when I started, if in six months the blog displays promise, I would consider the next steps in its development. Six months, 40,000 page views, 800 followers, 85 twitter lists later, I have come to consider this little project of mine some sort of success.
The first, next step, is creating a new design. By trade I’m a web developer, and decided it was time to move from the popular Fusion theme by Digitalnature and onto my own. Welcome to the “Single City Guy” theme! Try it out, explore the website, and tell me what you think, what works and what doesn’t! I will note, this website works best with a modern web browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Firefox 3.6, Internet Explorer 8).
Hope you enjoy the new design, and other new changes that will be coming shortly!

The weather is warming which means it’s high season for heading out to the clubs! And get your groove on. Clubbing is a signifiant part of the single lifestyle, it’s where you can meet many potential singles and let loose many of your inhibitions. The clubbing dating scene is much different than the online dating scene. I’ve had some success with it, and many failures. This week, I’m goin to detail all of the things I’ve learned from being single and clubbing. Hopefully they will help you enjoy the warm weather festivities!
If you have any stores of yourself in da club, send me a note with your story and I’ll feature you as a guest writer for the week!

So Single City Guy isn’t single anymore, which leads to some questions, mainly, what happens next?
There was a blog post not to long ago, that asked if your blog keeping you single? It was a question I asked myself while considering taking myself off of the market. The larger question was, will Single City Guy cease once I’m in a relationship? I’ve always told myself the answer would be no, but when you’re looking down the barrel of the gun, you begin to think differently. [Read The Rest Of This Entry]

For the last two weeks, I’ve been fairly silent. Last week I was in Cleveland, which turned into more of an ordeal than I thought it was. When I got back to NYC this week, things didn’t get any easier. There’s plenty of good news, some interesting news and a backlog of posts, all which I’m going to begin posting today!
I want to thank you all for your concern, and don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about all of you at all!

I love Dockers pants, and they have been a fixture my wardrobe for as long as I can remember. So when I was approached with the opportunity to give away 5 pairs of Dockers Soft Khakis this Valentine’s Day, I jumped at it.
If you haven’t seen the “Dockers Men Without Pants” commercial from this year’s SuperBowl, take a moment and watch it (it’s at the end of this post, past the jump). It’s about men stepping up and wearing the pants, even though they weren’t! This Valentine’s Day, you have the chance to prove men ARE wearing the pants and that Chivalry Is Not Dead (#chivalryisnotdead)! To do this, post a comment on this post, or send me a tweet (@singlecityguy) about what you did (or for women, what a guy did for you) on Valentine’s Day, past or present. This can be anything, from making a great mixtape (hint), to a surprise romantic weekend get-away.
You have until Noon EST on Friday, February 19th, where I will then select 5 winners at random to receive a free pair of Soft Khakis (either in classic khaki or red).
Good luck guys, and show women that chivalry isn’t dead at all! [Read The Rest Of This Entry]

Ahh the New Year! A time to put the ghosts of the last year to rest, and start a new. It’s somewhat a yearly baptism, a fresh start, a tabula rosa if you will! The New Year is going to be a great, exciting year! Thanks for following my dating life of 2009.
I hope 2010 becomes a great year for you as well! The start of a new decade, the start of new adventures, and your first hangover of the New Year!
Happy New Year, have a joyous 2010!
