Mid-April is the only time of the year, where two of the major four sports begin their post-season. The NHL began their playoff’s earlier in the week, and the NBA playoff’s begin this weekend. This season, I have a rooting interests in both sports, both the Rangers and Knicks are playoff teams. While I don’t expect either to reach their conference finals, Madison Square Garden will be buzzing with post-season play.
I couldn’t name all the teams in the chase for the Stanley Cup, but I do know last year’s champions are in the race. History does indicate that the chance for a repeat title isn’t high, but that doesn’t mean the Blackhawks will make a good playoff push. If I had to choose a team to win this year’s Stanley’s Cup, it would be the Bruins. While I’m not a fan of anything Boston, the Bruins have been a quietly good team. In hockey, that’s usually a recipe for success. On the basketball side, neither the Heat or the Celtics aren’t reaching the finals. Neither are the Lakers. If I had to choose this year’s matchup, it would be Chicago (as much as it pains me to say that), and the Spurs. Watch out for the Magic, Knicks, and Denver, those three teams are very dangerous and will cause an upset, or two.
