These ads from the Ad Council, and their new Bedsider campaign makes a very clear point, “You didn’t give up on sex, so don’t give up on birth control.” While the topic, is very much a hot button issue, the campaign makes a very valid point. Too often are we eager to talk about sex, but not eager to talk about ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies. The conversation isn’t a female only topic, we men also hold a responsibility in the matter as well! [Read The Rest Of This Entry]

Look At The Man, Not The Titles
Last night, while reflecting on the impact that Steve Jobs had on all of our lives, I tweeted “An adopted, non-degree man who worked from his parents house wouldn’t be a catch. This man was Steve Jobs. Look at the man, not the titles.”
Yesterday, the co-creator of Apple, Steve Jobs, passed away due to his loosing battle of pancreatic cancer. While there’s many things to take away from his life, after reading his speeches, quotes, and some memoirs throughout the evening, the one thought stuck with me. Don’t judge a man by his titles, but by his characteristics. Some took my thought as saying “you never know what someone will become!” As if, you should always be seeking for the next superstar. However, I’m saying something very different.

Miss USA 2011: A Science Geek!
Add Alyssa Campenella, Miss California and now Miss USA 2011, to the list of women guys really want to date. Not only is she gorgeous, but she’s also smart. Geek smart. She also believes in evolution and met the person she’s currently dating on Twitter. Well there goes trying to date her (but hope for the rest of the single guys on Twitter). While the new Miss USA 2011, claims to be a science geek, it’s surprising that she’s only one of two contestants who believe in evolution. Wow.
She’s definatly an upgrade from one of the former Miss California contestants.
How To Not Make A First Impression
I’m sure many of you have seen the video above, for those who haven’t seen it, it’s of a young woman, who has made an eHarmony video for her dating profile. Before dismissing the video, keep watching until the 44 second mark where the magic begins and she breaks down at the mention of her love for cats. I don’t care if eHarmony cat girl is real or not, however, it’s a great example of how not to first make a first impression. Here are some things not to do, when you meet someone (either a date or a new person) for the first time. [Read The Rest Of This Entry]

What Do You Regret Before The End Of The World?

Tomorrow (or really midnight your time zone), the rapture begins and will mark the end of the world for everyone. While many who believe the event is merely a myth spawned by a group of people to trick them out of money and religious following, it bears the question: if the world were to end tomorrow, what would you regret? While many of us attempt to live a life where we regret nothing, but I’m sure we all have small regrets, or things we wish we had a “do over”. While I have a few personal regrets, there’s a few regrets that I believe we all have. [Read The Rest Of This Entry]
How Comfortable Is Your City With PDA?
Today, Chemistry.com released a report, detailing the top 10 and least 10 cities comfortable with public displays of affection (PDA’s). While New York City is on the top 10 list (listed No. 5), the top city where people are the most comfortable with PDA’s is Honolulu. Honolulu’s #1 ranking, could be due to its consideration as a romantic city and honeymoon get away. It’s the cities that are the least comfortable with PDA’s that are the most shocking, five of them are in Florida (Orlando, Miami, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Ft. Myers), and two are in Nevada (Reno, Las Vegas). This makes no sense at first, if you consider the reputation of these cities, it makes a bit more sense. [Read The Rest Of This Entry]
Perspective
Perspective is a powerful and important. It’ helps shapes a person’s view of life, while providing understanding of a the feelings a person would have, based on life’s actions and events. An event, some may view as celebratory, could be seen as relief, sobering, or a call to violence. To understand their feelings, actions, and thoughts, one needs to understand their history to the event. You need to understand their perspective.
How Much Does Debt Matter? [Poll]
Earlier this week, I discussed some recent Match.com survey information about the cost of dating. I intentionally avoided talking about debt and relationships. The survey indicates that debt has a major importance in a relationship, but I wonder just how much. I believe everyone has some debt, and it’s hypocritical to not handle your partners debt issues, but to let them handle yours. So, I wonder, truly how much does debt matter?
